Native of Port Oxford, Oregon, Hanneke Cassel started playing classical violin when she was 8 years old. Soon she took up fiddling with Portland-based Carol Ann Wheeler, and began competing in contests throughout the Northwest. She is the 1997 U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion, and earned a scholarship to study with Alasdair Fraser and Buddy MacMaster on the Isle of Skye. Hanneke holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Berklee College of Music, and she has performed and taught across the U.S., Scotland, Sweden, China, New Zealand, France, England, and Austria. In addition to her solo act, Hanneke has played for the Kathie Ryan Band, and is a member of Boston-based fiddle bands Childsplay and Halali. She has released several solo CDs and is also known as a creative composer.


Pete Clark hails from Birnam not far from the birth places of Niel Gow and Robert Mackintosh. The beautiful Perthshire landscape has been the inspiration for many of Pete's compositions to be found on two great Scottish fiddle CDs - The Birnam Oak and Sycamore. Pete's debut CD Fiddle Case was chosen as one of 1996's albums of the year on BBC Scotland's 'Travelling Folk.' His top selling CD Even Now features the music of Niel Gow whilst Mackintosh at Murthly features the compositions of Robert Mackintosh. His new album Now & Then showcases some of Pete's compositions alongside a few gems from those of the great Scottish fiddle composers, Niel Gow, Willam Marshall and James Scott Skinner. In addition to his highly successful solo career, Pete has been a member of several notable bands including Heritage and Smeddum and is currently a member of the highly successful Benachally Ceilidh Band and the Niel Gow Ensemble.


Mr. Bhatti Pavan Singh was born 1981 in Warangal Province, Andhra Pradesh of Raiput parents. He began his music studies at age ten in the local music college. His credentials in music include violin studies under Gurus, Srimati (Mrs.) Poosaraia Manoram, and Sri (Mr.) Dwaram Satanarayan Rao as well as vocal and violin studies under Guru Vas Gopinath Rao.

Mr. Singh has taught violin for the last 12 years. His employment for the last five years has been teaching violin at Oakridge International School and also teaching both voice and violin at Shruthi Laya School. Both schools are located in the city of Hyderabad. He has performed on All India Radio from time to time and is versatile in the different styles of music prevalent in different parts of India. In addition Mr. Singh has a Bachelor of Science degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad, in mathematics and computer science. He is looking forward to working with his Western counterparts on the music staff of Himalayas Fiddle Adventures.
